Day 73 Stop and Look 365

National Potato Chip Day 2023

Day 74 Stop and Look 365

It’s National Potato Chip Day and we are ready to celebrate. We can thank George Speck who was African American on his father’s side and Native American on his mother’s side for inventing these delicious snacks. Later in life he changed his name to Crum. Mr. Crum was a chef for the Moon’s Lake House in Saratoga, NY when Cornelius Vanderbilt asked for a very thin sliced fried potato. So Crum took some potatoes and sliced them extremely thin, fried them up and served them to Vanderbilt. Of course they were a hit and we thank Crum for his “can do attitude.” We all need that I can do anything attitude and meet any challenge. But first let’s have a bag of chips.
