Day 210 Stop and Look 365It is that time of year, creating gifts. I don’t know why, but my creativity really goes into overdrive during this season. These mits turned out to be a challenge, but in the end, I was happy with the outcome. I think gifts made with care are special and will be cherished through the years by the recipient. Plus, the euphoria that comes when it is completed is worth the challenge. So, what will you create?

Day 209 Stop and Look 365I have been so busy lately that I haven’t taken time to follow my own advice. Stop, look, and admire the world around you. Not doing this has made me a bit anxious, so I need to remember to practice what I advocate. There are many interesting things to admire. We all need to just slow down and “Look.” Remember what our mothers use to say, “do what I say, not what I do.” Now, wasn’t it nice this cow posed for me.

Sunflowers symbolize a long life and lasting happiness. When you hold a sunflower, you feel like you are holding the sun. I don’t know any other flower that sparks that feeling. But I could be wrong. Day 201 Stop and Look 365Another great day doing my new favorite pastime; “foraging.” The reason I enjoy this so much is because I am out in nature. Like I have mentioned, autumn is my favorite season. There are many plants waiting to be harvested. Plus, no mosquitoes or pollen. Every walk is a new adventure or discovery. Today, we found walnuts and thistle. Walnuts are great for dyes, and thistle makes a nice tea. I am not trying to encourage you to become a forager. However, it is fun. But, maybe just taking a walk will greatly improve your disposition.
