The night we arrived we had a meet and greet with members of  Hogar De Fe. We were treated to a fantastic dance performance by  Pastora Martha Mora ( from our host church) and other members of the church. Then Pastor Eli welcomed us and gave an uplifting sermon. Everyone was so warm and inviting when welcoming us. Lots and lots of hugs.  

The next morning was the regular service. Now the real work began: working with the kids. I’ve noticed that kids are kids. No matter where you are or what language you speak, if you love kids, you can work with them.  My friend read them the story of Noah and the Ark, with the assistance of our translator Ishi. Then they colored canvas bags.  They also really enjoyed the paint with water books I got from the Dollar Store. The animal stickers were the best prize. Through my years of working with kids I have learned they love stickers. Plus, they will do any chore to earn multiple ones. This was my first glimpse at why God wanted me here.
