This is the main altar at the Franciscan Monastery, in DC. It has a baldacchino, which is a ceremonial canopy over it. It is made of metal and on the columns you can see birds and flowers, which pay tribute to St. Francis who enjoyed birds. He often had birds follow him around when he walked outside. They would even land on his shoulders and hands when he prayed. On the columns you can also see figures and the names of the 12 apostles.
