Ruth Carter Found Her Passion, What is Yours?

This awesome dress was worn by Ruth Carter. You may not know her name but you will recognize her costumes from at least one of the movies she designed for the actors. She won her 1st Academy Award in 2019 for Black Panther. This was the dress she wore that year. She just received her second Oscar for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2023). She is the first African American woman to win two awards in this category. Some of the other movies to credit include: Do The Right Thing, Selma, Malcom X, Amistad, The Butler and Coming To America. I probably forgot some. Ms. Carter is an incredible woman who has been designing for the past 30 years. It may have been a long and difficult journey but when you look at her designs, you can tell she was passionate about her creativity. It demonstrates if you like what you are doing it will never be just a job, it becomes a lifestyle. Find your passion. Ms Carter has earned the right to be celebrated during this Women History Month.
