What is the Ruby Osia Discovery List?

I have a friend, who is a librarian, plus she teaches American Sign Language to preschoolers.  Her name is Ruby Osia, but I think she should be called Miss Ruby Travel.

Throughout her life, her quest has been to travel to every continent and state in the union.

So far, she has completed traveling to all of the continents, and to date, she has 5 more states to explore. 

When I travel, I have a criteria I follow to commemorate the experience. First, I must stay in the place for at least an hour. Airports don’t count. Next, I must eat in the place, and purchase a small memento to remember the location (like a postcard or pen). Ruby’s way to celebrate her adventure is to purchase a tee shirt or sweatshirt.  

You need to decide how you remember your journey to new places. But never forget to take lots of pictures.  Ruby and I share a love for photographs of the places we explored. 

All of the journeys made are relevant, but places put on The Ruby Osia Discovery List will highlight places dedicated to the African American experience.     Discovering our history and culture is very important to us since we’re both are Black.
